Where better to get party style tips than at one of the hottest fashion dos of the year?
We grabbed a number of the well-heeled guests as they sipped a cocktail at the InStyle BAFTA EE Rising Stars Awards party to get their expert opinion on how to dress to get noticed.
'A very high heel, a very tight dress, and LOTS of perfume,' was the king of sparkle, Julien Macdonald's, advice on turning heads at a party.
And TV presenter and all-round style maven Angela Scanlon would have to agree. 'Wear heels,' she said. 'I'm normally a trainers kind of girl, but nothing makes you feel more in the party spirit than a pair of heels.' We're totally with you Scanlon.
And we've got to admit, we're also of the same school of thought as Laura Jackson went it comes to putting our glad rags on:
'It took me 17 minutes to get ready, and I jumped on the bus to get here from round the corner,' the TV presenter told us. Looking this good in under 20 minutes? That's pretty good going.
But the best advice of the night? It had to be from designer Christopher Kane no less: 'It's about the person, not the dress.'
Hear, hear Mr Kane...
