Move over Oscars, the Toronto Film Festival is rapidly becoming THE place to go celeb-style spotting!
Stunning actress Rachel Weisz was one of our favourite looks of last night as she wore a 70s-style vintage cream and lace jumpsuit.
The rest of the celebs went for a more classic red carpet look in an array of captivating dresses. Freida Pinto, accompanied by boyfriend Dev Patel, looked show-stopping at the premiere of her latest film in a black Alexander McQueen dress from the 2011 Resort collection, before opting for a more understated Narcisco Rodriguez turquoise one-shoulder piece for the photo-call.
But Alexander McQueen was not the only British designer to make an appearance on the red carpet, as both Carey Mulligan and Thandie Newton championed some of our home-grown talent in their outfits.
Carey turned up to the premiere of her new film, Never Let Me Go, in a beautiful Christopher Kane number, before opting for a more pared-down wrap dress with this season’s hottest accessory - leopard print heels - at the film’s press conference.
Thandie, meanwhile, opted for a classic, short and pink design by Stella McCartney for the premiere of her new film, Vanishing.
At another premiere across town, Nicole Kidman opted for minimalist chic in a sleeveless, high-neck wrap dress, lightly cinched-in at the waist with a black ribbon. Accessorised with her characteristically cascading red curls, and hubby Keith Urban, she managed to work her trademark old-school glamour to perfection.
Finally, two other big hollywood starlets Winona Ryder and Natalie Portman, both channelled ladylike chic at their respective events. Winona evoked the Louis Vuitton A/W 10 look in a black prom dress that wouldn’t look out of place in our favourite TV drama Mad Men, and Natalie soaked up the buzz around her new film, Black Swan in a feminine strapless prom dress complete with a layered, ruffled skirt.
