The three Brits join some of the world’s biggest pop stars to remake the REM classic Everybody Hurts

Simon Cowell has managed the almost impossible task of getting some of the most famous people in the music industry to create a charity record in less than three weeks.

Today marks the release of the first single dedicated to raising funds to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake tragedy.

The song, which is a cover of REM’s Everybody Hurts, features vocals from Cheryl Cole, Susan Boyle, Robbie Williams and ex-Take That bandmates, Mariah Carey, Rod Stewart, Jon Bon Jovi, Michael Bublé and Kylie Minogue, to name but a few.

Everybody Hurts is not released until Sunday but you can watch the official video here.

The track is available from HMV.com, Play.com or Amazon.co.uk with all the proceeds to be split between the Disasters Emergency Committee and the Sun newspaper’s Helping Haiti campaign.

It is one of three songs to be released to aid the Haiti appeal as well as a remake of the 1985 charity anthem We Are The World featuring an all-star line-up of music stars.

We salute you Simon Cowell and the countless number of people who have joined together to support Haiti!
