Aside from the fashion - and the actual awards - this are those moments we’ll be guffawing and getting all teary-eyed over at work today.

1. Emma Stone’s mega awks hug
We’ve totally all been there. And Emma Stone’s reaction to this awkward non-hug is ALL of us. You can see what happens below, but the short of it is: as La La Land’s Damien Chazelle headed up to the stage to accept the award for Best Screenplay, Emma, over-excitedly, went in for a congratulatory hug at the same time as his date.
2. Evan Rachel Wood in a tux for the best reason
The actress ditched the dresses and opted for a custom Altuzarra tux as a way to inspire young girls and let them know they have choices. To let them know women don’t have to do what’s expected of them. She said: “I’ve been to the Globes six times. I’ve worn a dress every time. And I love dresses, I’m not trying to protest dresses. But, I want to make sure that young girls and women know they aren’t a requirement and that you don’t have to wear one if you don’t want to. To just be yourself because your worth is more than that.”
3. Garfield and Reynolds smooch
So bromantic. To console themselves when Ryan Gosling won Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical, Ryan Reynolds and Andrew Garfield had a themselves a little snog. Yeah, we can’t think of a better way to cheer ourselves up either.
4. Gosling’s shout-out to his wife, Eva Mendes
Speaking of the Gosling, he made us go all weird and melty when he thanked Eva Mendes during his acceptance speech. He even called her ‘sweetheart’. Just stop it now. “While I was singing and dancing and playing piano and having one of the best experiences I’ve ever had on a film,” he said. “My lady was raising our daughter, pregnant with our second and trying to help her brother fight his battle with cancer. If she hadn’t taken all of that on so I could have this experience, it would surely be someone else up here other than me today, so, sweetheart, thank you.” And we just died.
5. Maisie Williams and Sophie Turner are #friendshipgoals
When Maisie (Game of Thrones’ Arya Stark) ran into trouble with her train on the Globes’ red carpet, her GOT sister, and real life BFF, Sophie Turner was on hand to help out. And the moment was captured by Anna Kendrick. Let’s hear it for the sisterhood!
6. Tracee Ellis Ross brought the bling
And the award for the most badass jewellery look goes to… Tracee Ellis Ross for decorating every single digit in bling. The star of ABC’s ‘black-ish’ iced herself in ALL the diamonds.
7. Pssst: SJP wasn’t actually paying tribute to Carrie Fisher
As soon as Sarah Jessica Parker stepped onto the Golden Globes red carpet with her Princess Leia-esque updo, the Internet said it was an homage to the late Carrie Fisher. The Internet was wrong. “I didn’t mean for that,” SJP said on the NBC Golden Globes red-carpet special. She added that it was actually the same hairstyle her mother wore on her wedding day.

8. Somehow the Golden Globes events team spelt John Legend’s table setting card wrong…
And Chrissy Teigen rinsed him on social media for it. LOLS.
9. Brad Pitt got a lot of love
The ongoing divorce feud with Angelina Jolie doesn’t seem to have taken a toll on the actor’s looks, does it? A fresh-faced Mr Pitt (N.B. he's 53, guys?!) appeared at the Globes, to introduce a clip of Moonlight, a film he helped produce, and received a lot of applause. Journalist Tony Bravo put it perfectly: "Apparently Brad Pitt got custody of the Hollywood friends in his divorce from Maleficent," he wrote on Twitter.
