It came as no surprise to hear that James Cameron was celebrating after winning the top two gongs at last night’s Golden Globes for his epic blockbuster Avatar.
The award-winning director was crowned not only with the Best Picture award, beating out stiff competition from Inglorious Basterds and The Hurt Locker, but also Best Director for the film that passed the billion-dollar mark in less than a month.
Laugh-out-loud film, The Hangover took the award for Best Picture, Musical/Comedy while Pixar’s Up won Best Animated Film.
In TV awards, our newest Monday night fix, high-school singing show Glee, picked up Best Television Series Comedy or Musical while the Best Actor/Actress in a Television Series went to Toni Collette for her show United States of Tara and Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock.
