The Golden Globes 2012 was the night that Hollywood’s A-listers had been waiting for, and their red carpet entrances didn’t disappoint on the night with the glamour stakes going through the roof. While Meryl Streep, George Clooney, Michelle Williams and Claire Danes won big, Kate Winslet and Downton Abbey did it for the Brits at the 69th ceremony.

Iron Lady Meryl Streep was all smiles to collect Best Actress while George Clooney, flanked by his gorgeous girlfriend Stacy Keibler, was dapper as ever, winning Best Actor for his role in The Descendents.

Michelle Williams wowed in a figure-hugging Jason Wu number, accessorising with a cute-as-could-be head band, and went onto win best actress in a comedy or musical for her ravishing role in My Week With Marilyn.

Meanwhile Claire Danes looked divine in J. Mendel to pick up an award for her role in the TV drama, Homeland.

Snapping up an award for her role in Mildred Pierce, Kate Winslet wowed in a Jenny Packham peep-hole number while fellow Brit Andrea Riseborough worked the red carpet in Vivienne Westwood with Madonna by her side.

And Natalie Portman made a welcome return to the red carpet, sneaking into the ceremony at the last minute wearing a stunning raspberry satin Lanvin gown.
