Sandra Bullock and George Clooney opened the 70th Venice Film Festival last night with the global premiere of their sci-fi thriller, Gravity.
In their new film, written and directed by Alfonso Cuaron, the pair star as astronauts adrift in deep space after an accident leaves them stranded and forced to work together to survive.
Sandra set the fashion bar high for her fellow celebs, as she took to the red carpet in a stunning scarlet J. Mendel dress and strappy Roger Vivier shoes, while George Clooney looked his usual dapper self in a black tux.
Before the premiere, Sandra was spotted pulling silly faces at her co-star as they sped along the Venice waterways in a boat. And who wouldn’t be having a good time on a speedboat with George Clooney in Italy? Especially since their film has already garnered glowing reviews from critics.
Meanwhile, Scarlett Johansson, Nicolas Cage, Matt Damon and Zac Efron are among the stars expected to make appearances at the festival over the coming days to attend screenings of their new movies.
