Gary Barlow Lives Life On The Frontline In Afghanistan

The X Factor judge visits our troops in Afghanistan for an ITV show about life on the frontline.

Gary Barlow has been experiencing army life in Afghanistan for a brand new ITV programme set to tell the stories of British soldiers on the frontline.

The 42-year-old X Factor judge, who recently revealed he wouldn't be returning to the hit musical talent show next year, paid a moral-boosting visit to our troops in the Middle East earlier this week.

Soldiers from the army, navy and royal airforce were treated to a special concert in their honour performed by Gary himself, who also got kitted out in full military gear to pose for photos with the troops.

The former Take That singer's overseas trip will be aired in a one-off ITV special coming later this year. 'On the show, he will be finding out from what life is like in camp and how difficult it is to be away from home.'

'He listened to lots of their stories and they told him how much they missed their families, and he even performed some songs for them,' the insider continued. 'Lots of the servicemen and women were saying his visit was a real boost to them.'

Good on you Gary!
