The Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them: JK Just Confirmed Five New Films!

Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is coming to a cinema near you. Harry Potter fans, this one's for you...

Harry Potter fans, prepare to be very, very excited right now. If you thought the fantasy franchise was finished back in 2011 with The Deathly Hallows (Part 2), J. K. Rowling has a very special treat for you. The brand new trailer for forthcoming flick Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them was revealed at San Diego's Comic-Con over the weekend and well, we're pretty happy about it.

True Potter fans will know that Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them is not a prequel, or a spin-off from the main Harry Potter series. For the uninitiated, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is actually one of Harry’s textbooks at Hogwarts, fictionally penned by warlock and famous animal enthusiast Newt Scamander.

Eddie Redmayne plays Scamander, the fictional author of the book and the warlock who accidentally releases these fantastical beasts into 1920s New York, 70 years before Potter hits Hogwarts. Also starring in the hugely anticipated film are Ezra Miller as Credence, Colin Farrell as Graves (now this should be interesting) and Humans star Gemma Chan in an unknown role.

What started out as a minor detail in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone first turned into a real book in 2001 (did you know J. K. Rowling wrote and released it in aid of Comic Relief?), and for the first time in Harry Potter history, Rowling has also penned the screenplay for the film, due out on November 18th 2016.

Speaking at a special live-streamed fan event, the cast (including Eddie Redmayne) and J. K. Rowling herself confirmed the very exciting news that there will be five Fantastic Beasts films! That's take us through to the 2020s.

We’re not sure we can wait that long! Luckily we have this trailer to keep us going. Check out the new trailer right here muggles - we doubt you'll be disappointed...
