Downton Abbey

The Emmy Award 2012 nominations are out and Downton Abbey and Mad Men could be the big winners.

Scooping the nomination for Best Drama Series, British show Downton Abbey has also done well with nods for many of its stars, including Michelle Dockery - Best Actress, Hugh Bonneville - Best Actor, and the ever-amazing Maggie Smith - Best Supporting Actress.

Meanwhile, New Girl’s Zooey Deschanel is up against Lena Durham from hit series Girls for Best Comedy Actress, while bombshell Christina Hendricks is up for Best Supporting Actress as Joan in Mad Men. In fact, our favourite retro drama has swept the awards, picking up 17 nominations overall, the same as hit series American Horror Story.

Game of Thrones also represents us Brits as it's up for Best Drama Series and Best Supporting Actor for Peter Dinklage. And Benedict Cumberbatch is up for Best Lead Actor in a Mini Series for Sherlock!

We can’t wait for the awards ceremony on 23 September – the red-carpet eye candy and the fashion!
