We've made no secret of our obsession with Emma Watson's wardrobe these past few weeks. The 23-year-old actress has made several flawless appearances on the red carpet of late, as she promotes her new movie, Noah, and we've pretty much loved every single one: from the Saint Laurent tux to the Erdem dress she's wearing above.
But rather than pretend she woke up looking that incredible, Emma Watson is keen to point out the work that goes into her red carpet looks, so as not to contribute to the 'dangerously unhealthy' and 'unobtainable' image that fashion can sometimes project.
'With airbrushing and digital manipulation, fashion can project an unobtainable image that's dangerously unhealthy,' Emma told the Sunday Times.
'As a younger woman, that pressure got me down, but I've made my peace with it', she added.
'I'm excited about the ageing process. I'm more interested in women who aren't perfect. They're more compelling.'
And despite being a major Hollywood star, Emma reveals that she's still self-conscious – especially when she walks into a room where she doesn't know anybody.
Describing her first day at Brown University, Emma said: 'I walked into the canteen and everyone went completely silent and turned around to look at me. I had to say to myself "it's OK, you can do this". You just have to take a deep breath and gather your courage.'
