It doesn't sound like it was all smooth running for his and Hannah Bagshawe's big day
It's safe to say that the last few months have been a bit of a whirlwind for Eddie Redmayne. Not only has he been raking in the nominations and awards for his role as Stephen Hawking in The Theory of Everything, but he went and got married to his long term girlfriend, too.
The star tied the knot with Hannah Bagshawe last month, in a Christmassy wedding with friends and family at Babington House. And while we still haven't had a peek at Hannah's dress, Eddie has revealed some of the details of his big day to Ellen DeGeneres.
And it doesn't sound like it was all plain sailing either. The 33-year-old let slip that his bride left him waiting at the altar – because she was late.
'She was a good half-hour late, and her grandfather had to help, going and summoning her,' Eddie told Ellen.
'And everyone else was really stressed, but I was kind of relaxed knowing that she’d never been on time for pretty much anything in her life.'
Well, Hannah won't be the first bride to be a little late to her nuptials.
The Theory of Everything actor also revealed that their Honeymoon had been a bit of a washout, after a serious lack of snow meant their skiing holiday in the Alps involved more apres ski than actual ski.
'We went to the Alps, which was such a beautiful idea, but unfortunately there was no snow,' he said.
'But that was just an excuse to take long lunches, drink a lot of red wine and have a lot of fondue.'
Sounds alright to us...
