Downton Abbey is among the British shows nominated for a Producer's Guild Award

Awards season buzz has started, with Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations already revealed, and now the Producer's Guild of America Awards have been announced with plenty of Brit hits in the running.

In the Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television category our favourite period drama, Downton Abbey, is nominated alongside Mad Men, Homeland, Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones.

Sherlock, which stars our crush Benedict Cumberbatch, also recieves a nod in the Outstanding Producer of Long-Form Television category.

Up for the motion picture award is Skyfall - the first Bond ever to be nominated for the prize. It goes head-to-head with flicks including Life of Pi, Les Miserables and Zero Dark Thirty.

The winners will be announced in LA on 26 January 2013. Fingers crossed for a big win for us Brits!
