Jennifer Lawrence is one of the few major celebrities in this day and age to completely and 100% shun social media. While other starlets obviously have their preferences — some prefer to share their latest culinary triumphs with their followers on Instagram (yep, we're looking at you, Taylor Swift) and others just LOVE to take to their Twitter accounts for a good-old rant (cough, Miley Cyrus, cough) — most of today's big stars engage in social interaction in one way or another...
Jen, on the other hand, jumped on the social media bandwagon and, it hurts us to report that it's not likely to change anytime soon. Nooo! To be fair, though, she's got a VERY valid reason for it.
The 24-year-old actress, who is in the midst of the promo-tour of her most recent flick The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, spoke to disc jockey Nick Grimshaw on his peak-time BBC Radio One Breakfast Show about her decision to snub Twitter and we couldn't help but get on-side.
Speaking of the platform, J-Law dished her dislike for Twitter: 'I cannot really keep up with emails so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me. I don't really understand what it is, it's like this weird enigma that people talk about. It's fine, I respect that but no, I'll never get Twitter.'
It wasn't long before Jen went on to reveal the reason behind her choice, and we're guessing you all know what that is. She opened up and said: 'Because the internet has scorned me so much, I feel like it's that girl in high school that I'm like "Oh you want to talk about her? Yeah I'll do that". Take my hoops off, I'm ready to go.'
She was also quick to include a warning to her die-hard fans, all of whom would love to see the star join their fav social media outlet. 'If you ever see a Facebook, Instagram or Twitter that says it's me, it most certainly is not me.'
Aw, but Jen; we just want you in our lives every second of every single day.
Jennifer was, of course, talking about the leaking of her very private photographs back in September which was only fuelled by social media. Yep, she's got a pretty good reason for Twitter-hate.
While we're GUTTED at the news that @TheOfficialJLaw will never be, we're totally backing her decision.
Jennifer, we salute you.
