We Did Not See Diane Kruger + Joshua Jackon's Split Coming One Bit

And we’re actually genuinely sad about it

About every three weeks someone in the office would say something nice about Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson being a couple. They just seemed pretty normal; private, in lurve and happy.

So we were hella shocked and actually genuinely sad to learn they had split up after ten years. In fact, if they can’t make it, who can?

As you’d expect from the dignified pair, reps for Diane, 40, and Joshua, 38, have told People they will ‘remain friends’ and the only social media activity has been a few sad Insta-posts from Diane...

It's always darkest before the dawn ❤️

Though this year is going insanely quickly, so we hadn’t realised it had been so long, they hadn’t been out together since February for the opening of Smart People, Joshua’s off-Broadway play.

The pair had been living together in New York, and had also lived in Paris and Vancouver.

Despite never marrying, they were always complimentary about each other, and avoided gossip about engagements or relationship dramas.

Having been married before to French director Guillaume Canet, for five years, Diane spoke about the ‘dilemma’ she was in about whether she’d marry again. Joshua didn't seem to think it was an issue, telling Glamour: 'I can tell you why we're not married. We're not religious [...] I don’t feel any more or less committed to Diane for not having stood in front of a priest and had a giant party.'

Oh, we'll miss those guys.
