The mistress of musical theatre herself, Denise Van Outen, is taking Fame to the London streets on July 12th.

Denise Van Outen will be calling on the public to join her in recreating Fame’s infamous yellow taxi dance scene.

An area of Shoreditch will be transformed into the streets of New York to form the backdrop to the routine, choreographed by Aicha Mckenzie. The scene will be televised on TCM as part of ‘Fame Night’ on July 30th.

The stunt is part of a campaign for the film channel TCM, entitled ‘Capture Your Classic’, (a competition for all film fans to submit their video recreations of famous film scenes).

Denise Van Outen will also be joined by another celebrity guest to be announced on the day.

And if all that hasn’t made you rush for your leg warmers and sweatbands then maybe the fact that UNIQLO is offering a 20% discount between 8th and 12th July to all participants will do it. Hoorah! We’re limbering up already.

Log on to 'Capture Your Classic' to sign up and for full details of timings and location.
