David Beckham is the latest member of the Beckham brood to be in the running for a role in hit HBO TV series Girls. Can you imagine?
At the Girls season three premiere in London last night, the show's creator and star, Lena Dunham addressed those rumours that Victoria Beckham wanted a piece of Girls action.
'Victoria Beckham mentioned she loved the show in an interview and this has been metastasised into 'Victoria Beckham is the fifth Girl'.' said Lena on the red carpet.
'We love Victoria Beckham but she's a little chic for us.'
Which doesn't sound particularly promising. Until executive producer Jennifer Konner stepped in.
'I've heard those rumours but they have not been directly put to us,' Jennifer said at the Cineworld Haymarket. 'Why not? It would be amazing!'
'And I would insist on David as well.'
While we'd settle for seeing Victoria on our screens, to have David as well would be pretty amazing.
Meanwhile, Victoria Beckham's co-star in Spice World (Lena take note: VB has acted before), Richard E. Grant, also has a part in the new series of Girls.
'I have a 25-year-old daughter who obsessively watches the show,' he revealed last night.
'All the things she's going through are the things the characters are going through so it's a real window into the world of the young, who have left home and finished college or university and trying to make their way into the world - and the sexual politics are eye-opening, to say the least.'
Although the Withnail And I actor remained tight-lipped on the details of his role, it was revealed that he has a relationship with one of the characters. We cannot wait to find out who...
The new series kicks off on January 20, at 9pm on Sky Atlantic. We'll definitely be tuning in...
