David Beckham Set To Receive Major Honour

Could it be time to start calling David 'Sir Becks'?

David Beckham is set to have his many achievements recognised by Buckingham Palace, if reports are true that he will appear on the Queen's New Year's Honours List.

According to the Sun on Sunday, David will be knighted for his contributions to football, as well as his commitments to a number of charities, over the past two decades.

Confirmation over whether or not the former-footballer, who hung up his boots for the final time earlier this year, is expected later this month once officials have carried out routine checks on David's fortune.

It is thought David's close friend Prince William - the Duke of Cambridge and the dad-of-four have worked together on charity and sporting porjects - will perform the ceremony rather than the Queen.

And, of course, with David being knighted comes a new title for his wife. The fashion designer could be designing under the moniker Lady Victoria very soon.

We'll just have to wait and see...
