David Beckham wishes a speedy recovery to fans injured in a frenzy on China visit
David Beckham well and truly lived up to his role as Image Ambassador for Chinese football as he sent a get well soon video message to fans who were injured at one of his planned appearances in China.
After being scheduled to appear at Tongji University, Shanghai, David Beckham's meet and greet with the University football team was quickly cancelled after nearly 1,000 fans stormed the stadium.
Seven people were injured in the frenzy, and Becks quickly released a heartfelt video message to express his sympathies: "It's been an interesting day because the warmth that I got shown at the University was really incredible, the love from everybody was really amazing.
"I've heard that a few people got injured - one officer, who I want to send my love to. I hope you get well soon, speedy recovery, and I hope to see you soon."
David has been touring China as part of his role as Image Ambassador for the Super League, and will be joined by wife, Victoria Beckham, for his last few days of the promotional visit.
