Now, we know that Dane DeHaan ISN'T Leonardo DiCaprio.
No one else can possibly be Leo. He is undoubtedly one of the greatest actors living and working today, and thank heavens that he's finally won an Oscar and yes, like a fine wine, Leonardo DiCaprio has matured into a rather tasty vintage. Plus, all that eco-warrior stuff? Props.
However, ask girls of a certain age who their ultimate crush is? In the whole world, transcending all time and space?! Guaranteed many of them will say '90s Leo. Leo in Romeo + Juliet, Leo in What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Leo in The Basketball Diaries... uh Leo in Titanic, hello?!
And while the DiCap can never be bettered (amen), we admit that we've been looking to fill that '90s Leo-shaped hole in our hearts for some time (watching him get bloodily mauled by that nasty old bear in The Revenant threw a spanner into the old sexual attraction works, no?), and now it seems, our prayers have been answered...
Before all you indie flick people start with the eye-rolling, we know that Dane DeHaan has been around for a while and yes, he's already starred in some pretty amazing films alongside some pretty amazing actors - we know, so you can stop with the 'you're late to the table' shtick. But come on, that cheeky laugh? Those piercing blue eyes? THE CURTAINS?! Bears more than a striking resemblance to a certain someone...
A few facts about Dane DeHaan that you probably didn't know. He's actually 30 years-old (we know, boyish good looks) and is happily married to actress Anna Wood. He's appeared in films with Tom Hardy (Lawless), Daniel Radcliffe (Kill Your Darlings), Ryan Gosling (The Place Beyond The Pines) and is set to star in the forthcoming Tulip Fever with our very own eyebrow lady-fave Cara Delevigne.
He's pretty much the bomb. AND, he looks a bit like '90s Leo. Still not convinced? Behold.
1. Through the bars
2. The boyish smile (we die...)
3. Moody black/white
4. The sexy 'look up'
Both are exceptionally good at this.
5. The head toss
Okay, Leo has the added advantage of curtains here...
There you have it. We could go on, but we won't. Keep an eye on Dane DeHaan - we anticipate Oscar glory very, very soon...
