Daisy Lowe Perfects The Art Of Upstaging By Rocking A Wedding Dress To A Party

A bash hosted in her friend Poppy Delevingne's honour no less...

Daisy Lowe is known for her penchant for slinky, figure-flashing frocks but last night she took her obsession to the next level for Jo Malone's beautiful Blossom Ball, which was hosted in the beauty Mecca's gorgeous London HQ. And while her outfit choice undoubtedly turned heads, it may not have been for all the right reasons...

Sure, she looked off-the-charts stunning but considering the event was hosted in the honour of one of her BFF's Poppy Delevingne — who was recently named the label's first ever face — her dress had major thunder stealing potential.

Arriving at the bash, the 26-year-old model and Brit It girl set the paps into a flashbulb frenzy with her white bias-cut silk dress. With a sweetheart neckline, beaded fringing to the cap sleeves and a long hemline that pooled decadently around her feet, Daisy's attire looked positively bridal. In fact, it's practically a doppelganger for the dress Pippa Middleton wore to the royal wedding back in 2011. Yep, we're talking FANCY.

They may be the closest of pals but we can still imagine Poppy would have given Daisy a bit of side eye...

It goes without saying, however, that 28-year-old Poppy looked an absolute dream in her ensemble which consisted of a powder blue long sleeve dress which features a sheer long hemline styled with just a short slip underneath.

Working her dress with on-point metallic sandals, it definitely gets our vote in the fashion stakes but, standing next to Daisy, we dare say she took on the role of chief bridesmaid at the Jo Malone 'wedding'.

Who were the other bridesmaids, you ask? Modelling royalty that's who!

Also turning out in stellar style for the party was Laura Bailey and Kate Moss's little sis Lottie who took their positions in the wedding party in coordinating pastel pink. What a line up!

While we're 100% sure that Poppy and Daisy are still on good terms, Daisy isn't the only celeb to upstage a friend with her style. Actually, it happens more often in these starry circles than you might think.

We've looked back at the stars who have truly perfected the art of the upstage. So, if you're invited to a party where you KNOW your ex or, even worse, your current BF's ex is going to be in attendance in this summer, you'll probably want to take note of this...

Case point: The Royal Wedding, starring Kate Middleton and her sister Pippa
What YOU can learn: Make your best asset work harder
The most talked about thing about the royal wedding, other than the wedding itself obv, was Pippa Middleton's bum. A perfectly executed case of 'if you've got it, flaunt it', which you should definitely employ if you're in need of a quick upstage with maximum impact.

Case point: Paris Fashion Week, starring Kim Kardashian and Jared Leto
What YOU can learn: Everybody be cool. You, be cool
Kim Kardashian began teasing us with her new hair HOURS before she finally unveiled it at Paris Fashion Week but what really got people talking is when Jared Leto rocked up with his new platinum blonde hair like it was no big deal to the SAME show. No grand unveiling gave him the edge on Kim and, in turn, shifted the focus onto him. In short, change something drastic about yourself then act like it's no big deal. Debuting a new look on Instagram or Twitter before the event will ruin the shock factor and you'll be left sad and sullen like Kimmy. And nobody wants that.

Case point: Indecent exposure, starring Jodie Marsh
What YOU can learn: Wear something, err, unexpected...
Lets get one thing straight shall we? We are NOT encouraging you to wear two criss-crossing belts as a bra and that's that. However, what we can learn from Jodie is wear something completely unexpected and you'll turn heads. For example, if you're always in pretty vintage-y dresses turn your look on its head by wearing a sharp tailored suit to your next wedding or night out. Similarly, if you're more of a tom boy shake things up with a midi skirt and crop top combo. People won't know what hit 'em, and you'll be upstaging like a pro.
