Daisy Lowe: 'I Love Being Called Curvy'
Jesse John Jenkins

With A-list pals, rock star parents and a body to die for, Daisy Lowe – InStyle's June cover star – is the modern definition of celebrity. With brains...

For our June issue, guest edited by the inimitable Roberto Cavalli, we bagged the lovely Daisy Lowe as our cover star who spilled the beans to writer Laura Craik on life as a single lady, why she loves being called curvy and which of her famous friends is funniest... Before the issue hits newsstands tomorrow, check out some of the highlights from Daisy's interview and shoot...

On her friends...
'My friends are all quite varied, but they all make me laugh. I’m only ever funny by accident, but they’re all really quick-witted. Alexa’s hilarious. Pixie’s one of the funniest people – she has me in stitches.’

On remembering her late friend, Peaches Geldof…
'I think about her a lot. She’s very missed. Very loved. And I hope that she is happy… happy up there. It’s funny, I end up kind of talking to her a bit. I keep... I still think I see her, or songs will come on and I will go, “I swear that you just put that on".'

On how she keeps up with the social scene...
‘Don’t drink. I had three tequila shots at the Brits and two margaritas on Valentine’s Day. I’ve had five drinks since my birthday on 31 January. And that’s throughout London Fashion Week. But I’m not a teetotaller. I like a good tequila and a dance.'

On being single...
‘I’d like to be taken on some dates. Men don’t really come up to me and ask me out. They’re more intimidated by me. Even though I’m all about being a very independent woman and I believe in equality, I’m also very old-fashioned, so I would never make the first move with anyone.’

On her her body...
‘I love being called curvy. I love embracing the feminine form. I’m really grateful that our bodies are as powerful as they are, and we can grow life in us. I have big hips so one day I hope to have an easy birth.'

On having an old head on young shoulders…
‘I think I’m actually getting younger, the older I get. I was always so serious, and always thought I knew so much. Now I’m much more open to the idea that I have a lot to learn
