Does the absence of Kate Middleton at the society wedding of the year, between good friends Thomas van Straubenzee and Lady Melissa Percy, suggest that she may be due to give birth earlier than previously thought?
So far it's widely thought that the Duchess of Cambridge is due to give birth in mid July. But when Princess Diana gave birth to William in 1982 she duped the public by saying that he was due on 1 July when in actual fact he was born a whole 10 days early on 21 June.
If Kate and Wills are thinking along the same tactic lines then that means the Royal baby could be born as early as the beginning of July.
So far the Royal couple seem to be following in Diana’s footsteps as Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Kate is due to give birth at the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington where Diana gave birth to both Prince William and Prince Harry.
Although William and Harry both attended the wedding of their good friends, alongside Kate's sister Pippa Middleton, the Duchess was notably absent – choosing to stay closer to the hospital where she's due to give birth.
