Ahead of Sunday's BAFTAs, Colin Firth scooped the prestigious title at the London Critics' Circle Film Awards

What a start to the year for Colin Firth. His role in The King's Speech has earned him global acclaim with the awards rolling in across the board.

Colin's latest accolade as Actor of the Year comes from the London Critics' Circle Film Awards who also honoured The King's Speech with British Film of the Year and British Director of the Year.

Speaking backstage at the awards the actor told press: "Films like this depend entirely on what people say about them. They don't depend on the money because there wasn't much, they don't depend on a big studio machine or a big financial apparatus."

No stranger to award ceremonies, Colin won the same gong last year for his role in A Single Man.

With the BAFTAs coming up this weekend and the Oscars just weeks away, we're looking forward to seeing if Colin's reign will continue.
