Cheryl Fernandez-Versini earned herself the best-dressed gong at last night's Pride of Britain awards rocking a dress from an under-the-radar designer...

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has made a very welcome comeback to our small screens after rejoining the 2014 X Factor judging panel. And while we've been heavily entertained by all the going on during the auditions and the judges house's stages, lets face it, we're all eager to see just what gorgeous ensembles Chezza will don week after week on the live shows.

Well, if her latest attire is anything to go by, we reckon she's in for a stellar season...

Last night the 31-year-old songstress attended the Pride of Britain awards with her hunky husband Jean-Bernard on her arm and fellow X Factor judge Simon Cowell in tow and, needless to say, she looked every inch the superstar she is.

Rocking a floor-sweeping cobalt blue gown modelled in some of the most intricate lace we've ever seen, Cheryl's dress was undoubtedly one of the best - if not, the best - frocks of the night. Featuring a high neckline with a contrasting low back (which gave us a peak and no more of her rather statement rose tattoo's), Chezza's choice revealed just enough skin to be deemed as sexy but also covered up enough flesh to stay on the right side of demure. Nice work, lady...

With a host of designers practically on speed-dial, we wouldn't have been surprised to see Cheryl sport a bespoke creation from one of her favourite couturiers - she is, after all, a massive fan of Reem Acra and Monique Lhuillier.

In a bold move, however, Cheryl decided to support a designer who is relatively under-the-radar in the fashion industry.

Her dress was designed by MT Costello; a label based in LA that counts other celebs like Kim Kardashian and previous X Factor judge, Nicole Scherzinger. The brand's founder and creator, Michael Costello, kick-started his career on the hit US TV show Project Runway and then went on to develop his own very glamorous line of decadent evening dresses and separates alongside his sister Stephanie.

Cheryl has had a clear penchant for full-length lace frocks over the past couple of months since it emerged that she had secretly tied the knot with her French restaurateur beau back in early July. Who knows? Perhaps they're reminiscent of her top-secret wedding dress; the design and style of which she still keeps tightly underwraps...

We don't know about you but this striking ensemble has officially whet our fashion-appetites; so much so, we can't wait to see what she will sport when the live shows kick off on ITV this Saturday at 7.30pm. We know you won't let us down, Chezza...
