Cheryl Cole in Ralph and Russo

Cheryl ditched the traditional white dress in favour of vampy black and we love it...

Cheryl Cole (Fernandez-Versini doesn't quite roll off the tongue yet...) has thrown a second wedding bash in London for her friends and family and, not content with causing a stir with her whirlwind wedding, the singer threw us a major bridal curve-ball with her unexpected dress choice for the party...

Arriving with her new French husband Jean-Bernard, who she married in secret during an intimate ceremony in the Maldives after three months of dating, Cheryl stepped out of her car revealing a very offbeat, black (yes, really!) bridal gown.

From British couturiers Ralph & Russo, the floor-sweeper features a velvet bodice, satin cumberbund and a sexy, sheer pleated chiffon skirt, under which she covered her modesty with a pair of hot pants. But, lets face it; we didn't never expected Chezza to be a blushing bride type, did we?

Topping off her vampy look with slick-back hair, a red pout and a fierce mani to boot, we love the fact that the 31-year-old X Factor judge ditched the bridal stereotype entirely, choosing a look more in-keeping with her normal style.

Taking couples dressing to a whole new, seriously chic level, Jean-Bernard complemented his wife's ensemble perfectly, opting for a black shirt, tuxedo jacket and trousers, rounding off his look with sleek patent loafers.

With only 80 people on the guest-list, for a celeb shindig, it was pretty low-key. Held at swanky London private club, The Library, we clocked Cheryl's closest pals and Girls Aloud band mates Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts heading into the venue looking super happy for their friend, closely followed by Marvin and Rochelle Humes, who also coordinated each other in all-black ensembles.

In fact, all of the guests were seen arriving in an array of black and white outfits, and we reckon it was no accident... After all, what's a party without a dress-code anyway?! Congratulations Mr and Mrs Fernandez-Versini.
