Cheryl Cole was yesterday celebrating after her solo single, Fight For This Love, shot straight to number one in the singles charts.
The X Factor judge sold 292,846 copies of the single, making it the best selling track of the year so far.
Cheryl surely boosted sales when she performed the new single on last week’s X Factor, clad in sexy split trousers, a peek-a-boo leotard and a military cap and coat.
Cheryl told the Daily Mail: ‘I'm just getting over the fact I have recorded my solo record and now it's number one.
‘I can't take this all in. It's hard for me to put into words how I feel. I have this permanent smile on my face.'
The Girl Aloud knocked former X Factor winner Alexandra Burke into the second spot with her single Bad Boys, which sold 187,100 copies in its first week.
Alex still had something to smile about yesterday, though, as her album, Overcome, took the top spot in the album chart.
Better watch out, though, Alex – Cheryl’s new album Three Words is out today!
