Carey Mulligan gets rave reviews for new play

An Education actress Carey Mulligan receives two thumbs up from critics on opening night of her New York play, Through A Glass Darkly

Carey Mulligan was all smiles on the opening night of her new play, Through A Glass Darkly. Dressed in a floral tea dress and brown suede shoe boots, the starlet, who recently turned brunette for the role, posed for snaps alongside her three male co-stars, Chris Sarandon, Ben Rosenfield and Jason Butler Harner.

Her smile was sure to have grown even wider following the performance, which has won rave reviews in New York. Adapted from Ingmar Bergman’s 1961 film, Through A Glass Darkly tells the tale of a girl just out from a psychiatric hospital who tries to mend rifts with her family on a summer holiday.

This isn’t the first time the thespian Mulligan has tread the boards – in 2008 she appeared alongside Kristin Scott Thomas and Peter Sarsgaard in The Seagull ahead of her award-winning turn in An Aducation.

We hope her hit play moves to this side of the pond!
