Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson and Emma Stone have all been name dropped as front-runners to play the part of Hilary Clinton in a new biopic, but it's Carey Mulligan who's said to have the producers' backing.
According to reports, Great Gatsby star Carey is in talks with James Pendolt who will direct a forthcoming biopic about the former First Lady, Secretary of State and New York senator.
Titled Rodham, the series will follow Hilary's student days and rise to the role of politician.
GREAT GATSBY AT CANNES 2013
Coming of age, especially ones set in the swinging 60s, stories are something of a forte for Carey who won an Oscar for her role in An Education, and seeing as she's recently proven she can step up to the plate to play one of literature's most iconic heroines - Daisy Buchanan, we reckon she's the perfect lady to play real-life icon, Hilary.
