Eva Longoria at the Cannes Film Festival
Diane Kruger at the Cannes Film Festival
The 65th Annual Cannes Film Festival got off to a stylish start last night with Eva Longoria, Diane Kruger, Freida Pinto and Tilda Swinton working some seriously dramatic designer gowns at the Moonrise Kingdom premiere.
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria made a dramatic entrance in her frothy Marchesa gown, which came complete with a two metre-long train. The actress yesterday tweeted her excitement about attending the festival, saying: “Just landed at Cannes, ready for 3 exciting electric days at the Festival with L’Oreal Paris!”

Meanwhile, Cannes judge Diane Kruger worked one of the season’s It-hues, mint green, in her Grecian goddess gown by Giambattista Valli. Earlier in the day, at the judge’s photocall, the movie beauty worked a very fierce Versus lace-up minidress. Talk about a style chameleon!
Likewise, Freida Pinto was bang on trend thanks to designer Michael Angel, working spring summer’s three essential ‘P’s: pastel, printed and peplum!
In the sleek department were leading lady Tilda Swinton (who stars in Moonrise Kingdom) in her coppery Haider Ackermann column and Jessica Chastain, who showed off a simple scoop-neck gown by Alexander McQueen.
What a fashion-forward kick-off!
