Keira Knightley, Benedict Cumberbatch and Eddie Redmayne have all received nominations for the 21st Annual SAG Awards

British actors including Benedict Cumberbatch, Eddie Redmayne and Keira Knightley are among the non-American stars who have received nominations at the 21st Annual SAG Awards.

The nominations were announced last night in LA by Eva Longoria and Ansel Elgort.

Benedict Cumberbatch is up for not one, but two gongs at the awards, which will take place on 25th January 2015, for his role in The Imitation Game, as well as for his role in TV series, Sherlock. Keira Knightley has also been put forward for her role alongside Benedict in The Imitation Game, with a nomination in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category.

Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne have both been recognised for their parts in Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory of Everything, with Felicity going head to head with Keira in the Best Actress in a Supporting Role category, and Eddie as a hopeful for the Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role award.

Meanwhile, Dame Maggie Smith is once again up for an award for her role as the acerbic aristocratic granny in Downton Abbey, and Rosamund Pike is representing the Brits in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role category for her part in Gone Girl.

Obviously, our fingers are firmly crossed for them all.
