She's already the Queen of pop, but it seems Beyonce's new film role in animated movie Epic has allowed her to conquer another realm.

Speaking of her part as Queen Tara, the singing sensation revealed: "Once I learned about my character Queen Tara I just had to be a part of it. What I like most about Tara is that she sets such a great example to the people she protects. I've always wanted to be a Queen."

An action adventure story about a teenager who is transported to a magical forest where she must help settle the battle between good and evil, Epic sees Beyonce in good company, with voice-overs provided by fellow celebrity stars including Amanda Seyfried, The Hunger Games' Josh Hutcherson and fellow music star, Pitbull.

No doubt Beyonce's decision to take on the role was in part influenced by the fact that she now has a growing little girl who may become a fan of the movie, but she explains, it was its grand scale that really sold it to her. "Everything in this movie is big, the characters, the action, this is one time the film really lives up to its title," she says
