Move over Christian Bale, it’s Ben Affleck’s turn to don that black rubber suit and step into the batmobile, as it has been announced that Affleck is to star as batman in the sequel to Superman movie Man of Steel.
The 41-year old actor, whose film Argo (which he directed and starred in) won an Oscar for best picture, has become one of Hollywood’s most sought after talents.
The upcoming superheo film, directed by Zak Snyder, will be the first to bring these two comic book heroes together on screen. Speaking on Affleck taking the role, Snyder said: "He has the acting chops to create a layered portrayal of a man who is older and wiser than Clark Kent and bears the scars of a seasoned crime fighter, but retain the charm that the world sees in billionaire Bruce Wayne. I can't wait to work with him."
Ben Affleck will follow in the footsteps of Christian Bale, George Clooney and Michael Keaton to play the brooding Bruce Wayne. We can’t wait to see what he has to bring to the role (and how he looks in the batman suit). OM
