Forget Thierry Henry – Barbie's got the real va-va-voom in Colette’s kitschy cute table football game.
Iconic all-American doll Barbie turned 50 this year and the anniversary celebrations have included a New York runway show with designs by Marchesa, Alexander Wang and Diane von Furstenberg; a Barbie designed by German super Heidi Klum; and an exhibition of Barbies as styled by Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld.
Now this week, le chic and oh-so-cool Parisian emporium Colette continues the fun with a window installation featuring a limited-edition Barbie football table created by French designer Chloé Ruchon and manufacturer Bonzini – who make footie tables for official championships.
Table football is known as “Baby Foot” in France and thus the super-frilly, super-pink, super-girlie Barbie take on the game is called, bien sûr, “Barbie Foot”.
You don’t need to be able to explain the offside rule to field Barbies as your first eleven – you just need a spare €10,000 (about £8,500 – a snip to a Premiership player).
