Saturday night’s 63rd Annual Directors Guild of America Awards may have been overshadowed by the glitz and glamour of the SAG Awards the following evening, but the ceremony still attracted a host of celebs, including Jennifer Lawrence (in a killer asymmetrical Prabal Gurung white dress), Claire Danes (in Roland Mouret), Julia Stiles, Colin Firth and Amy Adams.
Natalie Portman, who accompanied Black Swan director Darren Aronofsky, looked especially gorgeous in her sleek black Michael Kors jersey dress – we’re spotting a trend with her love of halter-neck gowns now she’s properly showing.
But this time it was the makers of the films and not the stars to steal the limelight. Winners of the night included Tom Hooper, director of The King’s Speech, who won for Best Feature Film, Mick Jackson, Temple Grandin director, who scooped the gong for Best Television or Miniseries, and Martin Scorsese, who nabbed his second DGA for Boardwalk Empire.
