Angelina Jolie had some unusual companions on the red carpet at the London premiere of her film Unbroken last night, as she took to Leicester Square flanked by members of the armed forces.
In keeping with the film (the second Jolie has directed), which follows the true story of Olympic runner Louis Zamperini who was taken prisoner by Japanese forces during World War II, Angelina celebrated the efforts of the servicemen as they posed for photographs with her. Among them were veterans of the British Army, Chelsea Pensioners James Walter Fellows and Cecil Baker.
Wearing a beautiful cream caped dress by Ralph and Russo, which she accessorised with a Remembrance Day poppy brooch and chic gold hoop earrings, Angelina was the epitome of elegance as she signed autographs and spoke to press. A classic undo and her trademark smokey eye and slick of lipgloss was all Ange needed to complete her red carpet look.
While Ange's new husband Brad was absent from the evening, the director was in good company with rising star Jack O'Connell, who plays the lead in the film. Having won the New Hollywood Award at last week's Hollywood Film Awards (the same gong Lupita Nyong'o took home for her role in 12 Years A Slave last year, just FYI), the 24-year-old ex-Skins star is definitely one to watch. And not least because, you know, he's easy on the eye...
