Angelina Jolie had Hollywood blubbering into their finest black tie attire last night as she was honoured at the fifth annual Governors Awards in Hollywood.
Attending the ceremony on the arm of proud husband Brad Pitt, Angelina gave the acceptance speech of her career as she received the Jean Hershold Humanitarian Award for her charity work with the United Nations Refugee Agency.
The emotional evening almost got the better of the Oscar-winning actress as she addressed the room with a tearful speech. But ever the professional, she had the the industry's elite captivated.
'Thank you to the members of the Academy for this honor, my dear friends who are here tonight...And most of all, to my family.'
Turning her attention towards a proud Brad Pitt, who was accompanied by 12-year-old son Maddox, she continued, 'My love, your guidance and support make everything that I do possible.
'Mad, I'm not going to cry, I promise. I won't embarrass you. You and your brothers and sisters are my happiness. And there is no greater honour in this world than being your mom.’
With the room gripped on her heartfelt words, an emotional Ange spoke of her late mother and the influence she had on her charity work.
'And if she wear alive, she'd be very proud,' she concluded, leaving us all mushy and in awe.
