Kate Middleton & Prince William Had A Secret Double Date With This A-List Couple...

ICYMI: Kate Middleton and Prince William casually had Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie over for tea, and the entire meeting sounds BRILLIANT

Kate Middleton and Prince William are no strangers to rubbing shoulders with the stars. Sure, they're technically 'celebs' in their own right but, from time to time, they get to meet A-listers that even members of the royal family would have their own major fan moments over. And that's what happened this weekend...

After meeting with Beyoncé and her hubby Jay Z at a basketball game in New York last year, Kate and Wills set some time aside on Friday to host a get-together with another famous power couple at their own Kensington Palace residence. And who were the lucky guests of honour? Oh, you know, just Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.

Apparently their double date was months in the making but the two sets of couples *finally* met for the first time over tea. We wonder how Brad likes his brew...

An official rep for the royal couple said, "The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge met with Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie Pitt at Kensington Palace on Friday afternoon. They discussed their shared interest in combating the illegal wildlife trade."

Ok, so it wasn't all fun and games but considering the meeting ran on hours longer than scheduled, we reckon they hit it off...

According to a royal insider who spoke to American publication US Magazine, Kate and Prince William were "really excited" about the afternoon tea, with the source adding that the royal couple — who were joined by their son Prince George but not their newborn baby Princess Charlotte for the meet — actually waited outside their apartment 1A home to greet the Hollywood stars. In short, that doesn't happen very often.

Of course, Ange and Brad didn't turn up empty handed — they apparently brought a special gift for the Duke and Duchess to celebrate the arrival of Princess Charlotte, and while we don't know exactly what the present was, we can guarantee it would have been hard to top the gifts Michelle Obama bestowed on the young royals earlier this month.

The royal corespondent added that, “Everyone got on splendidly. Brad and Angelina spent much longer with the Duke and Duchess than planned. They ended up staying for almost a few hours." Oh to have been a fly on the wall at that gathering...

Just don't forget to invite us next time, ok Kate and Wills?
