George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin walk hand-in-hand near their new home in NYC

They may be one of the most prolific couple's in celebsville right now but Amal and George Clooney proved that, deep down, they're just like any normal newlyweds as they stepped out for an intimate dinner date in their new home, New York City.

Having relocated to NYC for their new roles — George is currently in the early stages of filming his new movie Money Monster while Amal is set to take up a new interim teaching position at Columbia Law School and as a senior fellow with the law school’s Human Rights Institute (wowza) — the pair seemed to be having a ball as they larked around hand-in-hand making their way to high profile restaurant, Kappo Masa.

For the off-the-clock outing, Amal looked just as polished as ever while rocking a seriously cool get-up that we wouldn't mind stealing for out next night out with our own S.O's.

Opting for a traditionally tricky yellow pea coat, Amal pulled her look together in flash by pairing it with a black mini skirt which featured a complimenting gold floral motif throughout.

Finished with a black cashmere top, lace up heels and some seriously statement gold chandelier earrings, she looked every inch the style maven she's known for becoming since tying the knot to the Hollywood heartthrob back in September 2014.

Of course, it's not just Amal's beautiful looks and stellar fashion sense that 53-year-old George is smitten with; he's also super-proud of her professional achievements. Well, if her new job role is anything to go by, we can't blame him.

In recent weeks, he's openly admitted that she's 'the smart one' and continually praises her selfless career as a human rights lawyer. Speaking of his 37-year-old other half and their marriage, Clooney said: 'I'm very happy. It's exciting; I really love my wife, I'm having a great time and I'm very proud of her. I couldn't be more proud of the things she does.'
