Amal Clooney has never struck us someone devoted to the latest fashion trends (despite wearing a series of lustworthy wedding outfits during her Venice wedding to Geroge Clooney last year), but her latest on-trend ensemble has made us think that maybe we've got her all wrong.
Although Amal might not be always be too enamoured with the attention that is focused on her sartorial choices (her comeback to the reporter who asked who she was wearing as she came out of court in her lawyer's robes was genius), that's not to say that the 37-year-old isn't a fan of fashion.
Proof of this came last night, as Mrs Clooney stepped out with her husband in New York wearing a look far from her usual classic shift dress and trouser suit ensembles.
Tapping into this season's major 70s trend, Amal wore a pair of Giambattista Valli patterned flares which she teamed with a fluffy crop top and black platforms. Baring a hint of midriff (yes, Amal's not afraid to show a bit of skin), the 37-year-old wrapped up from the chilly NYC evening in a black coat with fur trim. Safe to say this look was a far cry from the old school elbow-length gloves and black satin frock she was seen at the Oscars.
It might not be suitable for the courtroom, but it's definitely a first rate date night outfit...
