Alexa Chung has revealed that 2014 could be the year that she starts her own clothing line.
Speaking to Fashionista.com at the launch of her Eyeko beauty range in New York, the 30-year-old said: 'I'm going to get it off the ground hopefully in 2014.'
The TV presenter, model and recent author, has made no secret of the fact that she should like to add fashion designer to her growing CV.
Given her extensive fashion credentials to date - the advertising campaigns, the collaborations, the magazine covers - it seems like a move into designing would be a perfectly natural transition. We think it makes total sense that the 30-year-old should translate her enviable innate sense of style into a clothing line.
So why hasn't she already done it? Well, quite simply, she hasn't had the time.
'[2014 is] going to be the first opportunity where I haven't had a nine-to-five job… I've kind of been doing Eyeko, I wrote a book, I did Fuse every day, and various other design gigs and DJing. So this will be the first time to actually sort of sit down and think about it,' Alexa continued.
Although Alexa revealed that it's 'very much' all she wants to do, she's not got much further along than that. Asked if she had any potential themes for her debut collection, Ms Chung replied: 'Oh god I don’t even know… See, that’s why I need some time to think about it!'
If Alexa lets her own style influence her designs, will be very happy...
