New celebrity mum Adele made her first red carpet appearance since giving birth at the Golden Globes 2013, and now it seems she's back on the scene with a vengeance. The British singer sparked suspicion that she's heavily involved in the Oscars by remaining in LA after the Globes rather than flying back to Blighty, and now she's shared the extent of her role.
The Brit star is Oscar-nominated for Best Original Song for her Bond hit Skyfall, and has now revealed that she will take to the stage during the ceremony to perform it live for the first time. It's also the first time Adele has taken to the stage to sing since the BRIT Awards in 2012.
She broke the news saying: "It's an honour to be nominated and terrifyingly wonderful to be singing in front of people who have captured my imagination over and over again.
"It's something I've never experienced and probably only ever will once!"
The Academy Awards' official Twitter feed then corroborated the news, posting: "Best 4 Words Ever: Adele Performing At #Oscars."
Seeing as it's the 50th anniversary of all things Bond, we're also promised a special tribute to the films on the night. We wonder what it will entail…
The Academy Awards take place on 24 February - bring on the gowns and gongs!
