Why do actors ALWAYS want to turn their hand at another career? Not content with making it to the big screen, they record a single or, heaven forbid, an album - and however musically talented they are, it’s always pretty awks.

It was the THING for famous people to do, less so now but back in 2001 - which seems to be the year to decide singing might be your calling in life - it was big.

We all remember Kate Winslet's What If, don't we? It was actually pretty good, though not good enough to get 2001's Christmas number one as it was pipped to the post by another classic, Somethin' Stupid by Robbie Williams and Nicole Kidman.

But, for every Kate Winslet and Gwyneth Paltrow, there's a Leighton Meester FEAT Robin Thicke (the last person you'd want feat-ing in anything) and the lyric: 'It's hard to find a mate when you're gone before he wakes'. We love Leighton, but perlease.

Kim Kardashian's is maybe the most notorious. Only more amazing than the fact it was recorded in the first place, is that it's gone under the radar for this long.

Check out our pick of the most memorable...
