Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale on their wedding day in 2002
Who says you can't wear separates on your wedding day? For Ms Palermo's nuptials to dishy German model Johannes Huebl she wore a cream cashmere sweater dotted with ostrich feathers and a floaty tulle skirt by designer Carolina Herrera. It was the perfect understated look for their low-key New York park ceremony.
Granted, Liz got married eight times so there was plenty of room to experiment. But for her 1964 wedding to the biggest love of her life Richard Burton – whom she married twice – Liz eschewed white for a canary yellow long-sleeved dress with a matching garland of flowers.
The pink dip-dyed Dior silk faille gown Gwen wore to tie the knot with Gavin Rossdale in 2002 might just be our favourite wedding look of all time. But we'd expect nothing less from Gwen.
When Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie Wood's daughter Leah got married in 2008 her dress was a sublimely cool mix of boho and Victoriana. We also love that she's introduced her 'something blue' into that pretty neckline.
Farrow was just 21 when she tied the knot with a 50-year-old Frank Sinatra in 1966. Perhaps to make the age gap seem less obvious Farrow swapped a traditional long white dress for a more grown up skirt suit.
