Millie Brady: On Being Mates With Douglas Booth And Starring In The Film Of The Moment

Millie Brady talks celebrity mates, stunts and beauty disasters....

You may have seen her in TV's Mr Selfridge as his daughter Violette, or spotted pictures of her slinking into a cab post-Brits with Harry Styles. But Millie Brady is not just about insane cheekbones and great brows. She's snapping up hot roles, too, starring alongside Lily James and Suki Waterhouse in this year's hotly anticipated Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, and as a young Joan Collins in the Krays thriller Legend. Here are five other things you need to know about the 21-year old British actress...

1. She's mates with Matt Smith, Douglas Booth and Suki Waterhouse since starring alongside them in Pride And Prejudice And Zombies...

'I didn't know any of them beforehand, but having been with them 24/7 for nine weeks, I've made friends for life. Each night, at around 2am, when we'd been filming for ten hours and everyone had gone a bit mad, we'd all sit around playing Would You Rather, slightly deliriously.'

2. She does all her own stunts in the film...

'I did months of martial arts and stunt training. The zombie fight scenes were pretty full on. I can't say who, but one of my cast mates stomped on a zombie's face, thinking they were just a prop, but it was a real person. The poor guy didn't even flinch until "cut" was shouted!'

3. She was cast as a young Joan Collins in Legend and then strangely bumped into Joan Collins ...

'Weirdly, when I found out I'd got the role, I was with friends at a restaurant and they were like, "Joan Collins is sitting behind you." It was such a strange coincidence, I went over to her and she just said, "Make sure I'm glamourous,' then asked for a photo.'

4. She's had her fair share of beauty disasters...

'When I was six, I shaved off half my eyebrows. I took it a step further at boarding shcool and got my friend to shace off half my hair, then I dyed the rest of it bright red.'

5. But she's since got your make-up routine down to a tee...

'I like my skin to look fresh, so I'll use the Les Beiges fluid from Chanel, then do a deep-red lip or cat-eye flick. I loved the pink lip on the shoot, so I'm going to try that.'
