Lindsay Lohan Liked Our Shoes And Other Things That Happened At The Louis Vuitton Party

To celebrate the launch of the Louis Vuitton Men's AW15 collection we headed to their New Bond Street Maison for a very swish party. Hosted by Men’s Artistic Director Kim Jones, he paid tribute to the late designer Christopher Nemeth who inspired his AW15 collection. After an in-conversation with Tim Blanks, Kim Jones and Judy Blame (a close friend of Christopher Nemeth) the party kicked off. Here's what happened…

The Louis Vuitton private apartment is even more amazing than we imagined…

After browsing the new season collection we were directed towards the fire escape. Yep, an actual fire escape. But having previously watched a fashion show in a car park wrapped in emergency foil we didn't worry knowing that something fabulous was just around the corner. Or in this case staircase. After wandering past the loos in single file and finally arriving to a nondescript looking door we entered and found ourselves in the most opulent apartment #ever. All gold papered walls, chandeliers, velvet sofas and Jeff Koons artwork – think the coolest Pinterest board in real life. DJ’s Rose Dougall plus duo Disco Smack and Fattony had even set up a pop-up box in the living room where we spotted Rafferty Law, Jack Whitehall, Bip Ling, Clara Padget, Mollie King and Jamie Winstone dancing into the small hours. Then Lewis Hamilton and Naomi Campbell rocked up. Evidently, Wednesday is the new Friday.

Sake is the new champagne…

"Sah-kay,"  "Socky"  however, you say it, everyone swapped their usual flute of champagne for tiny slate cups of the Japanese tipple instead. Unsurprisingly, the Brit side of the crowd seemed to be doing them as shots rather than slow sips and constantly asking the sommelier for another round.

Carbs out, protein in...

The Louis Vuitton apartment was a good place to be last night if you were either gluten free or having a 'no carbs before Marbs' summer holiday panic. Deep fried seafood or floury blinis were switched for asparagus fronds drizzled in balsamic vinegar and melt-in-the-mouth slivers of seared tuna. Let's just say we ate a lot of Marmite toast when we got home.

Lindsay Lohan told us she liked our shoes...

Sartorial compliment of the night came from Lindsay Lohan, who InStyle features writer Lucy bumped into in the ladies. "Ooh I like your shoes" she said, pointing to her gold and leather block-heeled sandals, "they're like the perfect summer shoes." "Thanks!" Lucy replied, "they're Zara. Only thirty quid." '"Even better" said Lohan. If you see Lohan popping into the Westfield branch of Zara this weekend you'll know why.
