The Duchess of Cambridge may have become accustomed to the fact that her style decisions make headlines around the world, but in the run-up to this year's British Academy Film Awards many were speculating about whether she would actually be breaking royal protocol to fit in with the 'dress code.'
As you will probably remember, the Golden Globes kick-started the #TimesUp movement which, amongst other great things, has seen the Hollywood elite wearing all-black to highlight and protest sexual harassment and inequality in the entertainment industry and beyond.
But as a member of the royal family, Prince William's wife cannot be seen to be supporting a political movement. She therefore decided to wear an emerald green number by British designer Jenny Packham.
Looking beautiful as always, Kate was absolutely glowing.
Many have actually spotted a particular detail on her dress - a thin black velvet ribbon just below the bust - which could have been read as a subtle nod of solidarity. Who knows?
Of course, Prince William didn't need to worry too much, looking suave in a classic black suit.
