Liam Payne: “It’s Been Fantastic Going Solo!” The 1D Star Talks Splits and Shopping For Cheryl at Emporio Armani Show

Our Fashion and Celebrity Director, Josh Newis-Smith AKA Joshington Hosts caught up with Liam Payne about the struggles of going solo and how he was at the Emporio Armani show to do a spot of shopping for Cheryl. Cute!

Milano came to London Fashion Week last night as Emporio Armani brought their spring/summer 2018 show to day three of fashion week.

Amongst the stellar front row line up was Liam Payne, who was clearly taking a night off from babysitting duties, leaving the mother of his child, the artist formerly known as Cheryl Cole to tend to their first child. Looking beyond dashing in a crushed velvet suit and a rather racy bare ankle (SWOON!) the singer certainly seemed to be gaining confidence in his solo look.

Catching up with Joshington Hosts before the show, Liam talked about the pressure to succeed after being in the world wide force that was One Direction, “it was something that put me off at the start, I had great people around me with great management and an amazing team around me and now here we are further down the line with great success!”

He continued, “it’s been fantastic going out on my own – a lot of things are changing in this industry – like when you look at how streaming works, especially in America - so it’s taking a while to get the next single out. It’s my favourite track on the album so it’s killing me a bit!”

Music aside just how excited was MR. Payne for his first Armani show? “I am super excited – this is the first women’s fashion show I have been to!” When prompted if he is going to be giving his spouse some sartorial advice post show he remarked, “I suppose that is what I can do for the rest of the night and be like, ‘ohhh that would look great!’”

It’s safe to say Liam was vibing Armani last night, “at the moment it all about the ‘street’ – I have worn joggers with a suit jacket tonight for instance. I think music is taking over fashion at the moment with a lot of grime music around!”

Could we be seeing another celebrity come designer in the future? “There are a lot of brands doing small capsule collections and that’s something I would like to do myself – who knows the possibilities are endless!” Time will tell…

Liam Payne wasn't the only a-lister hitting the Emporio Armani front row as he took his place next to Ellie Goulding and our favourite newcomer the British actress, Millie Brady. Watch the video above to see Joshington Hosts catch up with the pair and Poppy Delevingne just can't wait to track Winnie Harlow down for a slut drop or two...
