6 Beauty Trends To Try At Festivals This Summer

Intro Deck:

Not a flower crown to be seen...

Festival beauty can be pretty cringe — lots of random neon and flower crowns that make you feel a bit basic and ridiculous. But if you want to get into the spirit (as it can be fun) or just don’t want to look like you take yourself too seriously, here are the coolest SS16 beauty trends to trial this summer…

1. Blue Eyes (Seen at: Missoni)

The bold painterly pigment on the eyelid is a fun (and realistic) way to get into the colourful festival vibe. If you don’t want to go quite so statement, do a hazey turquoise look — taking inspo from the Roksanda show — or simple blue lines as seen at Boss.

2. Eye Dots (Seen at: Antonio Marras)

People have been doing dots at festivals for a while now, but get yours spot on like the models at Antonio Marras with three dots under the eye and a metallicy wash on the top lid.

3. Sequins (Seen at: Ashish)

Models at Ashish were COVERED in sequins — across the eyelids and on the top of the head, from the parting. A major festival trend, and less likely to get in your eyes or itch your hair than glitter.

4. Gold hair threads (Seen at: Alberta Ferretti)

A brilliant way to keep a slept-on tent hair under control, without just putting it up in a bun, models at Alberto Ferretti secured twists with gold thread.

5. Glitter flicks (Seen at: Giambattista Valli)

Instead of rogue glitter all over your face (for ever more), keep it confined to a flick on the top lid — from the inner crease out to the end of the brow in bright blues, oranges pinks, purples and metallics.

6. Face tattoos (Seen at: Bora Aksu)

This season it’s about the intricate floral face tattoos (temporary, obviously) around the forehead and temple, rather than metallics — however tempting those gold triangles and arrows may be.
