Luxury Cashmink!
How to wear it: The perfect look for those days when you don't want to make a make-up statement, go for an effortless luxe look with the hottest hue of the moment, cashmink. A rich mix of sables, sands and warm mink, it's nude - but not as we know it! Tonal taupes are a great fit for most colourings and the palette can be mixed and matched to find a shade to suit.

Get the look:
1. Start with foundation such as this new stick foundation from Chanetcaille, £35, Space NK. We love multitasking products at InStyle so this handy concealer and foundation wand acts as the perfect base for your cashmink look. Its rich, hydrating formula will help acheive that stunning cashmink glow. Smooth it on gently over freshly cleansed and moisturised skin.
2. Enhance the texture of the foundation by dabbing on a light dusting of a pressed powder like this Blot Powder, £17, from MAC
3. Getting the skintone just right is key to your cashmink look, so add a touch of MAC's Cream Colour Base, £13. One of our top products, it's so versatile, you can wear the creamy base over foundation to lift cheek bones and give a gentle, natural highlighting effect.
4. Add a sweep of shadow to your lids and browline with a Bobbi Brown eyeshadow in Cement, Blonde, Birch, Taupe, Toast, Wheat or Sable, £14.50. Silky yet matte, this palette from Bobbi Brown has a perfect shade to suit all.
5. Barely-there lips are a must for Cashmink, so this Maybelline Moisture Extreme Naked Beige collection, £4.99, Boots is just the thing to slick on as a finishing touch. -

Red velvet lips
How to wear it: The A/W catwalks were awash with deep, delicious velvety red lips. Seductive, sensual and utterly femme, this season's red is all about taking a formal shade and wearing it in an informal way. Perfect for dressing up your downtime look or adding a pop of colour to an otherwise nude face. For the more daring you might even like to add it to your defined lined eyes a la Mad Men. But however you choose to wear it, red will be THE sizzling staple for your A/W beauty bag.

Get the look:
1. Find the right shade of red to suit your skintone. The paler your skin, the brighter red will appear.
2. Spray on some All About Lips, £15, Clinique - or a similar lip care product - to prep your pout and help the lipstick to stay put.
3. Add a tiny dab of your foundation to your lips to smooth them out and prevent the lipstick from bleeding.
4. Using your Chanel Le Crayon Levres precision lip definer in Rouge Noir, Rouge or Carmin, £16.50 from Boots, carefully trace around the inside of lips until you have a crisp, neat outline.
5. For the intense hit of red that's so on trend, fill in the lips with your chosen shade - we love YSL's new Rouge Pur range, £22, Selfridges
6. Blot carefully with a tissue. For a fuller pout, add a dab of clear gloss to the middle of the bottom lip. -

New Feline Eyes!
How to wear it: Unabashed, sweeping black lines were big on the runways as cats eyes took on bold new feline flourishes. And this season it's ultra modern and all about the lines, so forget mascara and reach for the liquid liner. Thin and crisp sleek lines or a wider billow of black, however you choose to line it, you'll nail the trend.

Get the look:
1. Decide on how big you want to go with your liner and make sure you're using a mirror near a bright light! If you want to use shadow on the lid we love this duo palette, £23 from NARS. Sweep it over your lids before the liner.
2. It might help to rest your elbow on a surface to help keep a steady hand.
3. Keep your eye partially open as you start to line. To help the smoothness, you may want to lift your eyelid a little, just under the eyebrow arch with your free hand - don't tug the skin.
4. To get expert precision, glide the MAC Penultimate eyeliner, £13.50, on starting from the inner corner, following the lash-line closely to the outer edge of the eye.
5. Depending on what look you're going for take the liner out beyond the edge of the eye and flick, fill and embellish to your heart's content.
6. Use your NARS palette to add some extra shadow or detail to the liner - once it's dried of course. You might even want to add a flick of white kohl pencil liner to give it an edgier look. -

Wow Brows!
How to wear them: Adding a bit of wow to your brows is a simple way of going bold with your beauty, without having to cake on the make-up. And this season, it's not all about big, dark brows, but rather enhancing and defining what you've got. So grab your tweezers to neaten, then get the eyebrow pen out for a little shade.

For an eyebrow kit with EVERYTHING you need, this Benefit Brows a-go-go Brow and Eye Shaping Kit has it all from tweezers to special wax to keep brows in place. It even has a step-by-step guide to getting the brows you've always wanted! Available from ASOS at £26.50
1. Brush your eyebrows using a special eyebrow brush.
2. Using sharp, slanted-edged tweezers, neaten and shape your brows. If you have fuller brows, simply select neaten them up, making sure to enhance your natural arch. For thinner brows you may need to reach for the eyebrow pencil for some added boldness.
3. Once you've got them neatened and shaped, enhance the natural shape and shade of the brows filling in using the eyebrow liner pencil. Start with the fullest part nearest your nose and work outwards. Make short wispy strokes with the pencil that follow the natural direction of the hairs. Don't press too hard with the pencil for an even spread of colour.
4. To keep brows in place add a light dab of eyebrow wax - or failing that a spritz of hairspray dabbed on with your finger.
5. If you want to define your brow bone further, add a dab of highlighter powder just beneath the browline. -
